GOLF NEWSThe PGA Tour season has arrived. Certainly the big story of 2010 is the anticipation of Tiger Woods return. Where will it be, when will it be, and how will he do? How will he handle all that's going to be thrown at him? Will he be bigger and better? Everyone has their questions. I am just as curious as everyone else!!Thinking about getting in shape? Improving your flexibilty, balance, endurance, strength, injury prevention? Are you really training properly for your body type? Have you ever been properly evaluated from a motion and movement standpoint? Is the type of training your doing really focusing on the correct areas of your body that need the most attention? Look for new information in the fitness locker!!PRACTICE LIKE YOU PLAY!Most sport's are practiced in the same enviroment in which they are played. Field size, rink size, basket height, etc.. don't change! Golf is very unique in that it's usually practiced in a much different enviroment than it's played. When practicing work on your mechanics but also practice "executing shot's" as if you were on the golf course! Vary target's, vary club's, vary shot shape's, trajectories, etc.. using your pre-shot routine and imagining your on the golf course!!SHORT GAME THOUGHT'SAre chipping, pitching, bunker play, and putting your strength! If not they should be! These are the club's you use the most! These are the shot's that account for at least 60% of your score! Does this area occupy 60% of your practice time? If not, I strongly suggest a new approach to your practice starting with a big committment to the short game!
